Four steps, every morning

Ring on. The magnetic dosing ring seats on the basket so nothing spills over the edge.

Stir. WDT needles break up every clump the grinder left behind.

Tamp level. The calibrated spring tamper stops at the same pressure every time.

Buy a scale before any of this. If you are not weighing your dose and your shot, none of the rest is measurable. A scale is the first thing we would buy, ahead of every tool on this page. Ours reads to 0.1 g, which is the level worth having.

These do not fix stale beans. Nor a grinder that drifts between settings. These tools remove the variable you introduce by hand, so the ones you are actually trying to dial in become readable.
