If you own a Gaggia Classic, a Rancilio Silvia or any E61 machine, your portafilter takes 58 mm tools. That is the size on this page.
A note on the confusing part: a "58 mm" basket is not 58 mm on the inside, which is why tamper listings quote 58.3, 58.4 or 58.5 mm. They all mean the same machine. Ours are sized to fit.
The kit

On a Classic or a Silvia the machine is rarely the limit — the preparation is. Ring on, stir, tamp level, screen on: the same starting point every morning, so when you change the grind you can trust what you see.
