Four steps, every morning

Ring on. The magnetic dosing ring seats on the basket so nothing spills over the edge.

Stir. WDT needles break up every clump the grinder left behind.

Tamp level. The calibrated spring tamper stops at the same pressure every time.

Screen on. The puck screen spreads the water evenly and keeps the shower head clean.

Two honest warnings

Check your basket is single-wall. If your Classic is still on the pressurised basket it shipped with, swap it first. A pressurised basket makes crema at the outlet hole rather than in the coffee, which hides both good and bad puck prep.

These do not fix beans or a grinder. Stale beans and a grinder that drifts still set your ceiling — on a machine this capable the grinder usually is the ceiling. And if you are not weighing dose and yield, none of it is measurable. Ours reads to 0.1 g.
