A tamp that leans is a shot that channels. Water takes the shallow side, races through, and the rest of the puck never gets properly wet. Most people can't feel a two-degree tilt — they just taste it.
A palm tamper fixes it mechanically. The wide walnut dome sits in your palm, the knurled collar rests on the rim of the basket, and the base can only go in flat. You press straight down and stop.
Two mechanisms
- Gravity — a fixed-weight head. No spring, nothing to set. You press until it bottoms out. Simplest and most durable.
- Spring-loaded — a calibrated spring with a marked scale on the shaft. It clicks at your chosen pressure, so every tamp is the same force as well as the same angle.
Specifications
- Solid walnut dome, knurled anodised aluminium body, stainless base
- Sizes: 51mm, 54mm (Sage / Breville), 58mm
- Height approx. 55mm (Gravity) / 58mm (Spring-loaded)
- Approx. 405–514g depending on size
This or the calibrated tamper?
The palm tamper guarantees level. The calibrated tamper is the traditional mushroom handle and gives you more feel. Buy the palm if your tamps come out crooked; buy the calibrated if they come out inconsistent in pressure.
60seconds
The routine
A better puck, in 60 seconds.
Most sour or bitter shots come from uneven puck preparation, not from the machine or the beans. Four steps address it.
- 1Dose
Grind directly into the portafilter. The magnetic dosing ring keeps your grounds neatly contained.
- 2Distribute
Precision needles distribute the grounds evenly and break up clumps before extraction.
- 3Tamp
A guided design that produces a consistently level puck.
- 4Screen & brew
The puck screen spreads water evenly across the bed before extraction.

What's the difference between the kits?
The Starter Kit is the essential four, with a calibrated spring tamper that controls pressure. The Barista Kit adds a universal dosing cup and a five-piece brush set to the essential four, for the complete prep sequence in one box. The Latte Art Set is for milk-based coffees and fits every machine. The Full Pro Kit is the complete seven-tool setup, with dedicated storage.
How much is shipping?
Tracked shipping is free on orders over €45. Smaller orders pay a flat €4.95. Delivery takes 6–10 business days to the EU, 5–8 to the UK, 6–10 to Canada and 8–15 to Australia, always tracked.
Do you need all six?
Not necessarily. Each tool addresses a different stage of puck preparation, and together they create a more consistent workflow. Each is also available on its own.
Can I return or exchange?
Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to return unused items or swap to another size. See returns & exchanges.
